Working all the time and fishing when I can, or maybe it’s the other way around. Upper East Side urban anglers don’t need to travel far for great fishing. It’s only a few blocks away.

I was born and raised in New York State, where I still live today. My interest in trout fishing led naturally to an interest in fly-fishing and fly tying. I began this part of my fishing education at age 14. My formal education consists of earning a B.F.A. in Art and a M.S. in Art Education. I currently work as a freelance graphic artist and illustrator and some of my artwork has appeared in Fly Fisherman Magazine and in other publications.

Having six generations of our family born and raised in the Adirondack Mountain town of Saranac Lake dating back to the founders had its advantages. Knowing when and where to find the best hunting and fishing, and how to go about it when we got there. Growing up we traveled the vast water routes available and I spent the majority of my time hunting and fishing with my father and his friends; whether it was spin fishing, ice fishing, or fly fishing right up until about the time I was entering my sophomore year in high school.
